This is part 1 (of 3) of a debate from my TV show about Islam on June 20th and 27th, 2005. The debate spans two episodes. Defending Islam is the Imam Feisal Abdul Rauf, and for the opposisng view point, I interview author, columnist and director of the Mid-East Forum Daniel Pipes.

Barack Obama and Hillary Clinton are always trying to top each other on issues that they agree on. The problem usually is, that the disagree with themselves more. Take health care for instance, they each have these convoluted plans which they themselves can't figure out. The more thy try to explain it, the more ridiculous they sound.
This yenta says she has foreign policy experience because she had some tea with world leaders. She said she knew Bhutto as a leader for 12 years(well of course you knew her as a leader, you didn't know her as a truck mechanic). Now that qualifies her for president? Happy New Year!

Our society is obsessed with status and materialism, instead of the things that truly matter. I hope we all can learn a lesson in this coming year; To focus on, and praise people and things that contribute to the greatness of this world, and not worship people and things that just bring us down a notch on the evolutionary scale. Here are my thoughts on the first presidential debate. Although neither candidate had a clear victory Friday night, the media is saying Obama won because he didn't lose. He looked poised and presidential. Well he did look poised as he made no sense! And if looking Presidential is telling bold lies, the Hail to the Chief!
